As New Years fast approaches, resolutions are in full force. I must admit: a goals list is my absolute favorite part of ringing in the New Year; and I am more determined than ever! I am super ecstatic to say the least. If inspirational little Olive and Elliot can fulfill their dreams, why can’t we? Haha. In addition to a number of other resolutions, one of them includes having oodles of fun with my attire.

Written by the editor-in-chief of Collegefashion.net, Zephyr, “25 Reasons Why You Should Dress Up” is a nifty editorial with compelling incentives to dress up on a daily basis, not just on special occasions. When I say write, “dress up,” I literally don’t mean wearing a dress per se but rather sporting an outfit that makes you feel fun, free, and most importantly FIERCE. Although an “oh so comfy” pair of sweatpants are never to be completely abandoned, there is nothing wrong with dolling up every now and then just for fun. You are fabulous and you owe it to yourself. Life is a celebration, so why not have a party every so often (… or every day if you’re up for it. Haha.)?

Happy New Years Eve, doll faces! May your evening and year be filled with  joy, love,  and peace.

With anticipation,

Dani

P.S. Below is a demo video just recently uploaded from Michelle Phan’s YouTube Channel specifically on New Years Eve makeup. Enjoy, muffins!

Good evening, sweet peas! I hope that your day went amazingly well! Entirely enthused by Shannon‘s stellar new post, “How-To X 2: Rice Water for Healthy Skin and Making a Good Video,” on successful video tutorials, I checked out Michelle Phan’s Channel on YouTube.

If you have not already done so, please check out Shannon’s post. One word, folks: uh-mazing. Not does her post provide valuable guidelines for an excellent video (and a super clean face), but it contains fundamental pointers to a booming blog as well.

When I first visited Michelle Phan‘s YouTube webpage, I came across a demo  entitled, “Holiday Glam.” As New Years Eve fast approaches, I could not pass up the chance to post this seasonal seminar on beauty. Why not leave 2009 with a bang? Plus, I finally discovered what that curve of my upper lip is called. (It’s called a “Cupid’s Bow.” Adorable, right? Haha.) Without further adieu, “Holiday Glam”…

Isn’t she just terrific? Instructive and intriguing. The best of both worlds. The following are several picks to accomplish this simply stunning look.

No. 2 de Polyvore.com. To visit the original website where all items were found, please click on the image above.

Makeup: Due to my fondness of the infamous “shadowy eye,” I chose to use a dark shade of plum, which gives the impression of an eggplant-like hue. In keeping with this vibe, I also decided to apply a warm shade of white that appears especially creamy.

Dress: With its polished design and champagne color, this lovely cocktail dress is ideal for any holiday get-together as it is both fun and sleek.

Accessories: While perusing various pieces, I came across this crazy cute vintage deer brooch. Fitting for both the dress and the occasion, this fashion ornament just seems to work.

Have a safe and fun-filled evening, muffins! …and a Happy New Year! May this impending year be the best one yet!

Happily,

Dani
